Police won't be laying charges against former Internal Affairs Minister Richard Worth.
The six month investigation into sexual allegations against Worth by a Korean businesswoman has found there are no charges to answer.
The police left no stone unturned in their investigation which included a peer review and an assessment by police legal advisors.
Inquiry head Detective Inspector Paul Basham says they have decided there is no basis for proceeding with any criminal charge against the former MP.
Worth resigned as a minister in June after Prime Minister John Key said he'd have sacked him if he didn't.
It was reported in July that the Korean businesswoman, who was never identified, had dropped her complaint.
That was not confirmed, and on Friday Wellington police said a careful and thorough investigation had been completed.
"Having completed the investigation, the police have determined that there is no basis for proceeding with any criminal charges against Dr Worth," the officer in charge of the inquiry, Detective Inspector Paul Basham, says.
Key never disclosed the reasons why he lost confidence in Dr
Worth, although he said it was not just the scandal.
