Police are hopeful newly-discovered security camera footage will help track down the masked man responsible for a violent robbery at an Auckland RSA.

Police are still hunting for the man who bound and severely beat 62-year-old RSA manager Maxine Corless at the Hobsonville RSA in December last year.

The new footage shows an unmasked man walking towards the RSA where the attack occurred.

Police say progress in the search is slow but they hope the new images will provide more clues to the attacker's identity.

Police describe him as a man of solid or fat build.

The attack happened on the 10 year anniversary of the day William Bell killed three people at the Mount Wellington-Panmure RSA.
