Vegemite Cheesybite has been chosen as the name for a new Kraft Foods spread combining vegemite with cream cheese.
Just four days after Kraft announced the new, cream cheese version of the iconic brand would be called iSnack2.0, the company has announced it will scrap the high-tech name because consumers didn't like it.
Kraft Foods Australia-New Zealand spokesman Simon Talbot said the new name was too far removed from the traditional Vegemite product.
"We wanted to be bold and have something that gave some distance between it and Vegemite," he said.
"I would say it gave too much distance with the original name."

The name iSnack 2.0 was ridiculous and I couldn't see that printed on the front of a jar, the new name, Chessymite, has a nice ring to it and doesn't have a weird associations with other brands e.g. Macintosh-the i in iSnack 2.0 .

That name barks like a dog. A miserable failure to be sure. Something smarter would be CreamyMite... but Aussies havent been noted for their smartness. It follows Sydneys Australia Square (A circular park), and a WA Suburb called Innaloo. Just one more thing to make fun of Aussies about... like their Rugby team.

hahaha yes everyone is so right, does sound like a computer game hahaha go figure coming from a web designer.. it definately isn't a catchy name that would throw me to buy the product, mind you if i were a police officer and named the product, it would be pol-10-7 maybe lol.. oh well

Kraft might be making a big mistake going with that name, it's not a snack its a spread or dip. It'll be interesting to follow its progress but my money says it wont be the big seller Kraft think it will be.
