Name of man accused of Otaki shooting revealed

The name of a man charged with murder after a fatal shooting in Otaki can now be revealed.

Tuaine Llewellyn Bevan, 26, is accused of shooting his partner Stacey Marie Lake on May 8.

A judge lifted name suppression for both the victim and the accused in Levin District Court this morning.

Bevan is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Lake suffered a serious gunshot wound to the body and a homicide investigation was launched after she died from her injuries.

Bevan has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in June.
