Name suppression for the man charged over the brutal rape of a woman in Nelson's Victory community gardens has lapsed this morning.
Hilton Heke, 22, is due to reappear in the Nelson District Court today on charges of kidnapping, aggravated injury, injuring with intent, indecent assault, and four counts of sexual violation.
The charges relate to the rape of a 62-year-old woman in the community gardens on New Year's Day.
Heke was given interim name suppression when he first appeared in court yesterday so information posted on his social media site could be
removed. That suppression lapsed at 10am today.
Detective Sergeant Ian Langridge said he expected the investigation team would continue to make inquiries for some time yet, but police were not looking for any others in relation to the case at this time.
