Multicultural Anzac Day in Afghanistan

Anzac Day commemorations in Afghanistan have been a multicultural affair.

Some 130 New Zealand soldiers are helping train the Afghan National Army as well supporting the United Nations operations there.

At dawn, troops at the Kiwi base in Bamyan province held their own service.

Lieutenant-Colonel Nick Gillard says they invited the New Zealand police working in the area, as well as troops from the US and Singapore, and locals.
