Multi-million dollar Lotto prize yet to be claimed

Published: 10:53AM Thursday September 13, 2012 Source: ONE News

A lucky punter who purchased a winning Lotto ticket in Tauranga has yet to come forward to claim their huge prize.

A spokesperson for the New Zealand Lotteries Commission says that the winning Big Wednesday First Division ticket, worth $27 million dollars, was sold at AJ's Lotto and Tobacconist.

Big Wednesday first division was last won in March, and has been jackpotting ever since.

The prize is made up of cash and luxury prizes, including money towards a bach, an Audi Q7 and a Lamborghini.

Lotteries Commission chief executive Wayne Pickup says that if the prize is won by an individual, it will be the third largest prize in New Zealand Lotteries' history.

The biggest ever jackpot of $36.8 million was won by a Masterton family syndicate in 2009.
