After the brief spell of fine weather the country has been enjoying, more heavy bursts of rain are on the way.
MetService says another low developing in the Tasman Sea is expected to bring rain to northern and western parts of the country from Sunday.
However the rain is not expected to hang around for long and the low should move across the South Island during Monday.
By the middle of next week, the next anticyclone may give the country a better chance of some settled weather.
