New Zealand's top designers spent Saturday picking their top models for the Air New Zealand fashion week, which kicks off next month.
It is the industry's biggest event of the year and Fashion Week producer Marissa Findlay says models are an important key factor.
"Because they are the thing that you're looking at with the clothes, so it's very important."
But it takes more than just a pretty face to make a lasting impression on New Zealand designers.
"Obviously someone that looks good in the clothes and has quite a strong walk," says Marc Moore of Stolen Girlfriends Club.
And it's all very exciting for the fashion hopefuls.
"Fashion week is like one of the biggest things in New Zealand for us models," says Jeana Rodewyk.
The models will find out if they made the cut next week.
