Missing woman case upgraded to homicide inquiry

  • Police puzzled by woman's disappearance

Auckland Police say they are now treating the disappearance of a missing Torbay woman as a homicide investigation.

Bin Chen, was last seen at 5.30pm at her home on Auckland's North Shore on November 5.

She was reported missing by her partner.

Police search and rescue teams have carried out an extensive search of the Long Bay Reserve, but have not found anything of interest.

There have been no public sightings of Chen.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie says a forensic examination has now started at an address in Torbay and a man is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police urge anyone information on Chen's whereabouts to call 08000 24779.
