Missing Parkinson's sufferer found dead

A 54-year man with Parkinson's disease reported missing in the Bay of Plenty has been found dead.

Police say there does not appear to be anything suspicious about the man's death.

He was last seen in Te Puna, west of Tauranga, walking towards Waipa junction about 4pm on Friday afternoon.

There were concerns for his safety because he required nightly medication.

The matter has now been referred to the coroner.
