Missing Auckland man found safe

An Auckland man who went missing in the bush at Piha on Wednesday night has turned up safe and well.

The man's wife called police when he didn't return home for dinner.

But Inspector Barry Smalley says the man found his way out of the bush at about 3.30 Thursday morning, just before search and rescue staff were deployed.
