How to donate to the Miners' Fund

A fund has been set up for the families of the Pike River miners by Grey District Council.

Mayor Tony Kokshoorn said the Pike River Miners' Relief Fund Trust would offer financial support now and in the future to the miners' families and mining community.

He said: "The trust will have representation from multiple support agencies involved in the response."

TO DONATE:
Donations to the trust can be made at any Westpac, BNZ, ANZ, ASB, Kiwibank or National Bank branch.

Cheques can be sent care of the Grey District Council  - 105 Tainui Street, Greymouth, 7805.    

Telecom, Vodafone and 2degrees customers can text 306 to make an automatic $3 donation.

Customers at Countdown, Woolworths and Foodtown supermarkets can donate in collection boxes or add to their bill until Sunday 19 December .

Online donations can be made via credit card at givealittle.co.nz

The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union (EPMU) has also set up the "EPMU Pike River Mine Families Support Fund Trust".
Donations to it can be made at any Kiwibank branch to account number 38-9011-0165987-00

    condolences to the families, concern about the industry that allowed these men to work in unsafe conditions, mines are dangerous thats true but none can put their hands on their hearts and claim they have gone above and beyond what is lawfully required of them to ensure their "mates" safety. Glenn Grindly could lead the way by ensuring his mine workers and his local community are 110% protected people b4 profit yeah right!!!
