Mark Crysell
Mark Crysell is one of TVNZ's most experienced reporters and has an extensive news background as well as a wealth of current affairs experience.
He now works for Close Up, based in Auckland.
Mark has worked on Assignment, ONE News and Backchat for TVNZ. He has also worked extensively in radio. He was a journalist for Radio Deutsche Welle in Germany, and for Radio New Zealand - both locally and as their Europe Correspondent.
Mark has won 13 Qantas Media Awards, including Best Current Affairs Reporter and Television Reporter of the Year.
Journalism is just one of many jobs Mark has had but he says it's the best.
Before starting his career in radio, he'd had a number of jobs including fencing, truck and bulldozer driving, prospecting for gas and oil in the Australian desert, roofing in Bavaria and courier driving in London.
He says those experiences make him a better journalist.
