Manurewa death no longer suspicious

Published: 10:53AM Sunday July 01, 2012 Source: ONE News

A man whose death sparked a homicide inquiry in South Auckland yesterday died of natural causes.

Police say a post mortem examination has confirmed that the 59-year-old who died in the early hours of yesterday morning in Primrose Place, Manurewa, died of natural causes.

Police are still carrying out an investigation into the disorder incident that they were initially called to the address for, said Inspector Gary Hill, Acting Crime Manager for Counties Manukau Police this morning.

Police were called to disorder at the address at about 2.15am yesterday.

They found the man unconscious at the address and CPR was performed on him but he was unable to be revived.

His death was treated as suspicious as officers carried out a scene examination and pieced together events leading up to it.

Neighbours told ONE News the street is notorious for police call outs.

"There's always policemen down there though... Something always goes down on that street," one resident said yesterday.
