Scene of Manurewa shooting - Source: ONE News
A man has escaped with minor wounds after being shot with an air pistol in south Auckland on Wednesday.
Police were called to a porperty in Randwick Park, near Manurewa, at 12.22pm, Counties-Manukau police spokeswoman Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey says.
"The victim received an air pistol wound to his chest, which did not require him to be taken to hospital," she says.
"He is at his home recovering."
Several people found at a nearby property have been taken to a police station to help with enquiries.
It is believed the incident may be gang related. The full scale callout was sparked when a man pointed what looked like a gun at a house with small children inside.
Gates-Bowey says police are also seeking a warrant to search an address for an air pistol.
