Man killed in crash at Mt Cook

A man has been killed in a car crash in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park this morning.

Police were alerted to the accident on Tasman Valley Rd, Mt Cook at 8.45am.

The serious crash unit is at the scene and police said it appeared only one vehicle was involved.

There was one occupant in the vehicle who was found off the road.

The road had been closed until police completed their scene examination.

Police were in the process of contacting the man's next-of-kin.
