Man who fell from balcony dies

A man who fell from a balcony at a flat in Auckland on Wednesday night has died from his injuries.

The 57-year-old man suffered head injuries and broken bones in the fall about 6.45pm in the suburb of Point England, 14km southeast of downtown Auckland.

He died in Auckland Hospital early on Friday.

Two men appeared in Auckland District Court on Thursday facing assault charges.

Police would not say if further more serious charges will be laid.
