A 53-year-old Briton has been charged over the late-night stabbing of a camper near Queenstown.
The man was arrested following a confrontation with two men cooking in the kitchen at Glenorchy Holiday Park early Sunday morning.
The argument escalated into a confrontation, and one of the cooks was stabbed twice, once in the chest and once in the stomach, Queenstown Detective Sergeant Graham Bartlett says.
The Englishman was remanded in custody until March 22 accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
Bartlett says the stabbed man's condition has improved on Monday and he is expected to be released from hospital in the next few days.
