A magnitude 4.0 earthquake has shaken Christchurch today.
The quake struck at 11.07am, 10 km south-west of Christchurch and was centred at a depth of 12km.
GeoNet has had around 17 reports from people in the Christchurch area saying they felt a "moderate vibration or jolt."
ONE News reporter Lisa Davies tweeted she felt the quake. "It sent a wee shockwave through the rugby sideline," she wrote.
The earthquake was followed an hour later with a magnitude 3.0 quake, located 10 km south-west of Christchurch with a focal depth of 7km.
There have been no reports of damage or injury at this stage.
