TV's popular Lion Man has failed in his court battle to regain control of Zion Wildlife Park near Whangarei.

Craig Busch was seeking an interim injunction against his mother, Patricia Busch, and associated companies, for breaking agreements.

Patricia Busch raised a loan of $1.7 million in 2006, to repay Craig Busch's company and personal debt.

In exchange, she was given power of attorney and sole directorship over the park until he could repay the loan.

Justice Heath has dismissed Craig Busch's application for an injunction, noting Patricia Busch entered into personal commitments which could not be justified on purely commercial grounds.

He says there are three ways for the dispute to be solved - either Patricia Busch buys out her son completely, he redeems his shares or the park be sold to a third party.
