It is likely ex-All Black Robin Brooke won't be charged over an alleged sexual incident with a 15-year-old girl in Fiji.
It has been claimed that he groped the girl and assaulted a teenage male who tried to intervene.
The incident is said to have occurred at a resort in Fiji on New Year's Eve during celebrations.
It is claimed Brooke, who played 60 games for the All Blacks, got too friendly with the girl, while she was relaxing with her friends by a pool.
A Fijian investigating officer says the case is still on going but refused to answer questions about why the investigation was taking longer than usual and why Brooke was allowed to leave the country when spoken to by ONE News on Monday.
Dr Steven Ratuva, who studies Fiji for a living, says Brooke was probably privately encouraged by police to leave Fiji quickly.
He says police usually charge people within 24 hours and since Brooke was allowed to leave Fiji, it means he will probably go free.
Ratuva believes Brooke's status as an All Black would have helped his cause.
In Fiji, an All Black is somebody who is idolized and who will have semi-god status.
ONE News is broadcast in Fiji every night but Sunday's story on Brooke and criticism of the Fijian police was taken out by government censors.
