Light plane lands safely after alert

A light plane has landed safely near Levin after reports its engine failed.

A number of fire staff and police were working to locate the aircraft after reports it got into difficulty.

Police say they have spoken with the pilot who was the sole person on board, and believe he may have suffered moderate injuries.
