League player who died during game named

The rugby league player who died suddenly during a game in Gisborne at the weekend has been named.

He was 34-year-old Jerry Tama Mason from Nuhaka, north of Wairoa.

Gisborne police believe he died of natural causes after collapsing on the field at Awapuni Stadium on Saturday.
