A worldwide report has found 70% of New Zealanders have fallen victim to cyber crime.
More than 7,000 adults from 14 countries took part in the Norton Cybercrime Report: The Human Aspect, which finds an alarming number of internet users are exposed to online crime.
The report also finds that virus infection is the most common cyber crime affecting New Zealanders, with 61% picking up viruses or malware.
Ten per cent of Kiwis have responded to online scams and 7% have had their social networking profile hacked or their credit cards used fraudulently.
Less than half of New Zealanders say they would report the crime to police.
