Kelston Boys High School has suspended seven students following a brawl during the school's rugby match against Auckland Boys Grammar.

In a statement, the school says it is suspending five members of the 1st XV, as well as two members of the 2nd XV who, being spectators at the match, became involved in the fight.

The suspended students will appear before the disciplinary committee of the school's Board of Trustees.

Up to 100 players and spectators were involved in the fracas at Auckland Boys Grammar during the match on Saturday.

The Auckland Rugby Union is holding a disciplinary hearing into the incident on Tuesday night.
