Bullseye's jackpot run of 61 draws ended on Wednesday night with a Kaitaia winner collecting the top prize of $410,001.
NZ Lotteries' chief executive Todd McLeay says Wednesday's winner didn't quite hit the Bullseye, but their winning entry was the only one within five numbers either side of the Bullseye number.
"Fortunately for them, the 'must be won' draw and lack of first division winners meant they scooped the first and second division prize pools," says McLeay.
The "must be won" draw was triggered due to Bullseye's jackpotting cash prize reaching the threshold of $400,000, as set out in game rules.
A "must be won" draw means that if Bullseye first division is not struck, then the first division prize pool is added to that of the next highest prize division where there are winners.
The winning ticket was sold at Pak'N Save Kaitaia, in the Far North.
It was the first time Bullseye had reached a "must be won" threshold since it was launched last October.
