Jessica Mutch has been covering politics from Wellington as a member of the press gallery since 2006.
She has reported on the 2008 New Zealand election, the 2007 Australian election and a number of by-elections.
Jessica joined ONE News at the beginning of 2008 after working
at Prime/Sky News.
She says career highlights include being part of the ONE News team
for the 2008 and 2011 election battles. She says politics is about
people, policies and power and she enjoys covering the issues and
debates that come with the ups and downs of the political
cycle.
Jessica is a graduate of AUT University (majoring in journalism) and also completed a post-graduate diploma in Public Relations. She also has a speech and drama diploma from Trinity College, London.
Before focusing on politics Jessica covered general news
reporting and a bit of sport as well.
