The man charged with murdering Auckland hairdresser Marie Jamieson in 2001 has appeared in court.
Joseph Reekers was arrested in Kaitaia in June, seven years after the 23-year-old victim was found naked behind a factory in West Auckland.
Reekers appeared fidgety as he stood in the dock wearing a blue sweatshirt with grey hair and a thick beard.
A pre-depositions hearing was scheduled for Tuesday but the prosecution and defence asked for more time.
Reekers will reappear in court in October.
