A Wellington man's dream to become famous before he faces
surgery for a life threatening bleed on his brain is moving closer
to reality.
Jason Napier, 23, needs life saving surgery. Despite staring death
in the face he has chosen to stay positive.
"You know, I'm going to make things happen from here, because obviously we all have such a limited time and you don't have control over that. And this is what has made me realise that," Jason told ONE News.
Before he goes under the knife next week, Jason has one wish - to get famous.
Social networking site Facebook is helping him get there.
"I've always craved the spotlight, you know. (I'm) not saying that it takes a fatally something to happen to realise that, but if this is going to happen to me, let it happen," he says.
His quest for fame through ' The Make Jason Napier Famous ' page had barely 100 followers on Sunday night. On Monday night, after the story appeared on ONE News, he had more than 4000. And the messages of support are loud and clear.
"Getting up and seeing new messages on both the Facebook and phone calls and everything, it's helping me get through each day. And there's a reason I'm so positive; it's because of you guys," he says.
Jason says he will keep his page updated throughout the surgery, and that he replies to each and every message on the page, whether he knows the person or not.
