A shot of horse semen will be on the menu for the brave at next month's Wildfoods Festival in Hokitika.
Christchurch horse trainer Lindsay Kerslake is providing the semen, saying he was inspired by the popularity of bull semen in previous years.
He reckons horse semen has a little more "zizz" under the bonnet, because stallions are full of testosterone. It may even be an aphrodisiac, Kerslake said.
The shots cost $10 and energy drinks will be on hand to chase it down with.
The shots will be available in cherry, liquorice, banoffee pie flavours, but an unflavoured version will also be available.
The inclusion of the edgy "delicacy" has already made headlines across the Tasman, with headlines like: Stallion semen has Kiwis raring to go .
The Hokitika Wildfoods Festival takes place March 12.
