Homicide enquiry launched in New Plymouth

Police have launched a homicide enquiry after a body was found in the back seat of a vehicle this afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward confirmed the vehicle was found near a place known as Meeting of the Waters, just south of New Plymouth, at 2.30pm.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen a maroon-coloured 1987 Holden Commodore sedan to contact them on 06 759 5500.
