Members of the Jewish community have gathered in Wellington's Makara cemetery to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Wednesday's services coincide with the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz II-Birkenau concentration camp.
Prayers and speeches were delivered to remember the Holocaust victims.
Stones were laid at the memorial, in Jewish tradition, by Holocaust survivors and dignitaries, including the German ambassador.
