An HIV-positive man is seeking to have oral evidence heard on all of the charges he faces of knowingly passing the disease onto others.

Glenn Richard Albert Mills, 40, faces 28 charges relating to 14 alleged victims.

Mills appeared in Auckland District Court on Wednesday for a pre-committal hearing on 14 charges laid under the new trial process that came into effect in June and did away with oral depositions.

On the other 14 charges, which were laid before the law change, he was remanded until November 24 for a depositions hearing, which is expected to take four days.

His lawyer Kevin Brosnahan told the court Mills would be making an application for an oral evidence order for the 14 charges laid under the new process.

That application will be heard on November 17.

The charges Mills faces include wounding or attempted wounding with reckless disregard, infecting with a disease and attempting to infect with a disease.
