Published: 12:07PM Thursday November 15, 2012 Source: ONE News

Police hope a high risk child sex offender who has been on the run for a week will turn himself into police today.

Police are appealing for sightings of convicted sex offender 47-year-old Darren Albert Jolly of Wellington after he allegedly breached his supervision order.

The vehicle police allege the 47-year-old stole from a Kapiti dealership last Wednesday has been found just north of Auckland.

Jolly made a phone call to his lawyer last night saying he would turn himself over to police today. But so far he has not made further contact.

He has known connections in Wellington, Taranaki, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Auckland.
