The death of a man whose body was found in a car in a Hamilton carpark has been deemed not suspicious.
A post-mortem examination on the man's body, described by police as a Polynesian male, was carried out in Auckland today, along with scene examinations.
Police said they had not found any suspicious circumstances and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
Police received a call at 7.43am yesterday morning after a member of the public spotted the body in the silver Toyota sports sedan.
The usually busy carpark, at the corner of Clyde and Grey St which caters for a number of businesses and nearby bar The Riv, was cordoned off while police conducted a scene examination.
Shopkeepers said the man had been a familiar sight at the car park for the last week and they believed he had been sleeping in his car there.
