Francesca Mold has been covering politics for almost eight years.
She first joined parliament's press gallery as a member of the New Zealand Herald's political team, winning a Qantas Media award for her political commentary.
Fran made the move from print to television in 2003 when she took up a job as a political reporter for TVNZ in the press gallery. She was appointed TVNZ's deputy political editor in 2006.
Fran is a graduate of Auckland University and also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Journalism at Canterbury University.
She has many career highlights, including covering the conflict in Timor Leste in June 2006 and also visiting the hermit kingdom of North Korea&something few Western journalists have had the privilege of doing.
Fran is passionate about politics and the impact it has on our lives. She loves the adrenaline rush that comes with covering a breaking political story and enjoys giving viewers a taste of the cut and thrust of everyday life in parliament.
