Former Exponents frontman to be honoured

The Chief Ombudsmen, a Kiwi music hero and a former TVNZ news presenter are among those lining up for investiture awards in Wellington today.

Chief Ombudsmen Dame Beverly Wakem will become a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.

Meanwhile, former Exponents frontman Jordan Luck will be honoured for services to music.

And TVNZ's first ever newsreader Dougal Stevenson will receive the Queen's Service Medal for services to broadcasting.

Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie received a Queen's Service Order medal at Government House yesterday.

Assistant All Black coach Wayne Smith has also been recognised as a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
