Hundreds of travellers were left stranded in Auckland this morning as heavy fog stopped flights in and out of the airport.
The peasouper blanketed the city until late morning.
Around 28 domestic and regional flights were cancelled, while 25 flights were delayed.
One international flight from Hong Kong was diverted to Christchurch, where it refuelled and then continued on to Auckland.
Airlines have spent the day clearing the backlog, and ONE News has been told tonight that flight schedules are now operating as normal.
