Twenty-one fire trucks, and more than 90 firefighters were at the scene initially. Just two trucks remained this afternoon damping down the fire and monitoring hotspots.

The firefighter who suffered smoke inhalation has been admitted to hospital overnight for observation but is said to be recovering.

The building was well alight at one stage and fire investigators are now at the scene. It is believed the fire started on the second floor, possibly in the roof area, but inspectors cannot get into the area until it has cooled down.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.

All roads in the area have now reopened.
