Fatal truck crash driver named

The truck driver who died after crashing off State Highway 1 south of Mosgiel, Otago, on Friday has been named as Reagan Van Welie, aged 36.

Van Welie's truck left the road on a gentle bend about 11.15pm, colliding with a large steel container on a property. He died at the scene.

Dunedin police say it is not yet clear what had caused the crash and a post mortem will be conducted.
