Police and fire safety officers are investigating a holiday
house fire in Canterbury that has claimed a life.
They think the elderly man who died was trying to put out the fire
with a garden hose.
The blaze completely engulfed the bach in remote Little Akaloa on
Banks Peninsula.
The disaster identification victim unit has been called in to
formally identify the body.
