The family of a man who died on the driveway of a gang member's house in Lower Hutt have paid their respects to him today.
Michael Mulholland was found on conscious with facial wounds on Farmer Crescent, Taita, on Thursday night and, despite efforts to resuscitate him, died at the scene.
Police are treating the death as a homicide.
Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said the post-mortem had been carried out but police would continue to examine the scene of the crime over the next two days.
Thomson said although a date for the funeral was yet to be finalised, family had congregated at the crime scene today to pay their respects to Mulholland.
"Police are working closely with the family to ensure the necessary support is in place to help them through the tragic circumstances of Michael's death."
Police believe a number of people visited Michael's home on the day of the death, and would like to speak to anyone who made contact with him and any time on September 20.
