The grieving family of murdered Featherston man Glen Jones say they have been "left devastated" by his death.

Glen Jason Jones, 40, died in hospital after he was attacked at his Fitzherbert Street home shortly after midnight on Saturday morning.

Today, the family released a statement in which they said Jones was "part of the fabric of the Featherston community".

"Three days ago a piece of this family was taken from us and we have been left devastated.

"Glen loved his family and friends and will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews," the statement said.

The family added that many people in the town had a soft spot for "Jonsey".

"The support we have received over the last few days has been overwhelming and we sincerely want to thank you all for that.

"We are hugely grateful to the large numbers of people who have got in contact with the police and provided information," the family said.

Earlier today, Kristofer Jones, 23, was arrested on State Highway 1 near Hunterville in relation to the police investigation.

He was charged with aggravated burglary, and is the fourth person arrested following Jones' death.

One other man wanted by police, Hayden Ranson, 27, remains at large.

Three co-accused appeared in the Masterton District Court on charges of aggravated burglary yesterday.

They were charged with entering Jones' home with a wooden bat and an axe handle.

Police are also speaking to three other people, but it is unknown whether they will be charged.

Glen Jones' funeral will be held on Friday.
