Fallen power lines on a farm north of Auckland caused seven bulls to blow-up.

Dave Taylor who leases the Dairy Flat farm says the property is visible from the motorway and he was notified by his father who was driving at the time.

He says he jumped the fence to find the bulls lying on their backs with the power lines burning through them.

Dave Taylor says it was a gory sight, and scary as the fallen lines were still live.

He says the bulls were worth around $6,000 to $8,000 and the lines company isn't taking responsibility.
