A New Zealand entertainer who admitted committing an indecent act has been discharged without conviction.

The man's also been given permanent name suppression at his sentencing at the Auckland District Court.

The incident occurred earlier in the year in Wellington, when the man was approached by a three women while walking back to his hotel at about 3:30am.

The entertainer through his lawyer has said that he is deeply remorseful, and that he did not know the age of one of the woman concerned, thinking she was much older than she was.

Despite the discharge, the judge has ordered him to pay $5,000 to the victim and court costs.
