The Easter road toll has risen to six after a motorcyclist injured in a crash on Monday, died in hospital overnight.

Another five people were killed within 24 hours on Thursday and Friday.

Last year nine people were killed on the roads over Easter.

In 2007, the Easter road toll was six, up from three in 2002 and 2003.

The national road policing team says most motorists are great at this time of year, but there are always those few who do not obey the rules.
