East Coast shaken by 4.4 earthquake

A deep-seated earthquake shook parts of the east coast of the North Island on Thursday night.

The quake, measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, happened at 9.59pm.

It was centred 10km southwest of Havelock North in Hawke's Bay, at a depth of 60km, GNS Science reported.
