A magnitude 4.1 earthquake has struck Canterbury this morning.
The tremor was recorded by GNS Science as being centred 20 km north-east of Christchurch.
It hit at 5:21am at a depth of 15 km.
It was reported to have been felt in Christchurch.
Elsewhere, a magnitude 3.8 quake struck 30km south-west of Hastings at 1.22am today.
