Two early morning earthquakes have shaken Christchurch.
GeoNet reports that the first magnitude 4 quake hit at 3.17am. It was located 20km east of Christchurch, and had a depth of 7km.
Around 160 people reported feeling a "light" earthquake in the area extending from Oxford to Sumner.
Twenty minutes later, another 3.3 magnitude quake was recorded.
The second quake was located 20 km west of Christchurch, and had a depth of 8km.
Police say there have been no reports of damage.
